MGIS Groundbreaking Ceremony – MGIS -Trường quốc tế Mekong Xanh

On February 22th, CIC Group broke ground on Mekong Green International School (MGIS), located in Tay Bac reclaimed new urban area, Rach Gia city.

Sitting on a total area of 8.500 m² and 154,5 billion VND investment, the school will be built in 2 phases.

The first phase consists of laying of infrastructure and school amenities for the kindergarten section, and second phase will be the building of the primary section.

Designed to exceed international standards for kindergarten and primary schools, MGIS will be a sustainable school.

When fully completed, there will be a total 40 classrooms and specialist rooms, all fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and safety surveillance cameras to optimize faculty efficiency and maximize student learning. Dense greenery surrounding the school and features like natural light and ventilation makes the school environmentally friendly.

Together with carefully planned specialization spaces such as a gym, music room, art atelier, STEM makerspace, cooking studio, library, computer lab and world class outdoor facilities such as swimming pool, soccer field, students are assured of a conducive environment their physical, intellectual and emotional development.

MGIS’s international faculty will consist experienced educators from Singapore and other native English speaking countries. Our dual language immersion (English – Vietnamese) will follow Vietnam MOET program criteria while exceeding international standards in preparing both Vietnamese and international students for higher education.

With a delicately balanced approach of teacher-directed and child-initiated learning activities which takes into consideration each child’s individual developmental stages, MGIS’s curriculum takes a child from experiential learning in the early years through to complex abstract thought processes in middle, high school and beyond

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Ms. Pham Thi Nhu Phuong – Deputy Director of CIC GROUP committed to a completion date of August 2020 for the first phase, as regulated by MoET, Kien Giang DoET and Rach Gia CoET.

First intake of students will be for children from 24 months to 6 years old.

The second phase of the project will be completed by August 2021 for the enrollment of primary schools, 6 to 11 years old.

The start of a continuous international education system from preschool to secondary schools, Mekong Green International is the launch pad from which CIC will meet its commitment to addressing the need for high quality learning in neighboring provinces in the Mekong Delta region.
